The Republic of Mauritius is situated 900km east of Madagascar
in the Indian Ocean. The republic also includes the islands
of Rodrigues, St Brandon and the Agalega islands.
The famous writer Mark Twain wrote in
‘Following the Equator’ – “You gather
the idea that Mauritius was made first and then heaven, and
that heaven was copied after Mauritius”. Well know for
its exceptionally beautiful white sandy beaches, coral reefs,
blue lagoons, palm trees, games parks, nature reserves and
magnificent mountains, Mauritius has long been a favourite
holiday destination for many nature lovers.
